BILLINGS - Millions of people are taking to the internet to sound off on Judge Todd Baugh's sentencing of former Senior High School teacher Stacey Rambold.
Among this buzz is a petition demanding the judge resign. As of Wednesday afternoon, petition organizers exceeded their goal of 15,000 signatures and have now set a new goal of 20,000.
The number of petition signers quickly grew throughout Wednesday on the petition that was created Tuesday night.
It was created on website moveon.org. The petition states "In response to the local and national outrage over Baugh's victim-shaming and willingness to excuse the behavior of the defendant, we petition that Judge Baugh resign from his position as district court judge."
Signatures and comments come from all across the U.S. and other countries.
A silent protest is scheduled to take place Thursday at noon on the lawn of the Yellowstone County Courthouse.
